The discovery of a bizarre natural sphere in Bosnia is baffling archaeologists and opening up new lines of questioning. Might there have been an ancient, advanced civilization in Europe capable of producing these spheres?

Archaeological consensus is that there is absolutely no evidence to support the claim that the sphere was created by an ancient, alien-inspired civilization in Europe. The archaeological society are all taking this on the face value; a bizarre and unexplained natural phenomenon which must have a plausible explanation.

Dr Semir Osmanagic has a controversial reputation in archaeological circles due to his persona and outrageous claims. Dr Osmanagic found the sphere sprouting out off the side of a small hill near Podubravlje, Bosnia.

He is adamant that this sphere could not have been a product of some rare natural phenomenon; rather he believes that an ancient advanced civilization could have had a hand in the making of this sphere.

Dr Osmanagic’s trademark claim was about the existence of massive pyramids in Visoko Valley. His work is ongoing and he is continuing to seek out further evidence and proof.

However, according to Dr Semir, when complete his research will prove the European pyramids to be a much more significant discovery than the Egyptian pyramids.

Known as the ‘Indiana Jones of Bosnia’, Dr Osmanagic currently resides in Texas but his passion for adventurous archaeology takes him across the globe. Searching undiscovered ancient sites and making shocking claims is his only hobby, and his recent discovery about the sphere which is around 4 to 5 feet in radius (1.2 to 1.5 metres) is equally tantalizing for many archaeologists.

This is, however, not the first bizarre sphere discovery in the world: there have in fact been many in the past. More often than not, these mysterious balls are linked with some highly advanced ancient civilization that possessed futuristic technology.

The reason behind these outrageous and historically challenging claims is the fact that the degree of precision found in the spherical nature of these balls is highly sophisticated and for an ancient civilization to have achieved. The Las Bolas spheres found in Costa Rica are perhaps the most famous of these spheres and have left archaeologists scratching their heads for many years.

Created by the ancient extinct culture called the Diquis, the total number of petrospheres discovered is 300. Some of these massive spheres – dating back over 1,500 years – can weigh up to 15 tonnes and have radii varying from centimetres to over 6 feet. The Diquin used various materials in the making of these spheres and these were then finely cut and later polished by sand. The use of any other tools or ‘technology’ is, however, unknown as yet.
