If you think that the United States of America is “united”, think again. At the centre of the US lies a country called the Republic of Lakotah! This no joke! As bizarre as it might sound, it’s inhabitant, the Lakotah Sioux who are the indigenous people of the land before the European settlers have ownership rights. In 1865 the US government signed a treaty giving the land to the Sioux and the agreement still stands to this day! The Lakotah are fighting for international recognition.
