Athanasios Kalakos smashed the Greek National U20 record in the 800m, in the 2nd Heat of the Semi-Final of the European Juniors track and field Championships, in Grosseto, Italy, 2017 and advanced to the competition final. The Greek runner recorded a time of 1:48.59.
