A Turkish singer who shot to fame in the 1970s claims eating kebabs every day keeps her looking young.
Ajda Pekkan, who turns 72 in February, said in addition to regular workouts, cosmetic surgery and anti-ageing spas, dining on meat and fish protects her youthful complexion.
Speaking to local media, Ajda said: “I am always very careful about what I am eating.
“I can’t say I limit my choice in food. I like kebab and fish.”
Ajda has more than 400,000 followers on Instagram and frequently treats her fans to beautiful pictures of her glamorous life.
“I’m walking, drinking a lot of water. I cannot think of life without water,” she added.
“Every morning I drink ginger-lemon-honey mixture in a glass of water.
“I never wanted to be a beautiful woman figure. But I always protect my body.
“Genetics and sport are very important to stay in shape.”

Through a career spanning five decades thus far, the 71-year-old has released more than 20 albums.
Along with pop singer Sezen Aksu, she is the most commercially successful female Turkish music artist with the sales of over 42 million copies worldwide.
She was recently named one of Turkey’s most powerful females when she appeared in the “The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Power” 100 list.
And despite her advancing years, Ms Pekkan also revealed she is also now thinking about having a baby.
The septuagenarian told local media she had already consulted with US and Indian doctors about artificial fertilisation.
