Police in Heraklion are examining the allegations of an under-aged girl who claimed she was raped by a foreigner in Crete.

According to her deposition to police, the man forced her to follow him to an isolated location while she was walking on Monday morning in the area of Gaz.

There, as the young girl claims, he gagged her, immobilised her and tried to rape her.

According to her account, at that point, she started to call for help.

A driver who was passing by heard her screams and called the police, who rushed to the scene and arrested the foreigner.
