Two police officers convicted of raping 19-year-old woman inside Omonia police station
The Athens Mixed Jury Court, which handles serious criminal cases in Greece, reached its verdict by majority vote, reclassifying the original charge from gang rape to rape committed by two or more persons without consent. One of the two convicted officers was also unanimously found guilty of a separate data-protection offence for allegedly filming the assault. Sentencing for the two convicted men is expected later today

The prosecutor told the Mixed Jury Court that lack of consent had not been proven beyond reasonable doubt, while describing the officers’ conduct as “reprehensible” and “highly unprofessional"
