Firefighters are continuing their efforts to control the forest fire that broke out in Mani, Laconia on Saturday afternoon. Aerial and ground means have been deployed in the battle, as the fire brigade has managed to quench the large front, however, according to the fire brigade, there are several scattered spots still burning.
According to public broadcaster ERT, firefighters are currently battling on two active fronts, one is in Drosopigi and the second in Germa.
Meanwhile, with the break of dawn aerial means have been releasing water on the forest fire. If the aerial operations are successful in limiting the blaze, ground forces will take action, in order to extinguish the fires.
