Indonesia to spend $79 billion to upgrade its Armed Forces!

According to the spokesman, 60% of the material of the armed forces is "obsolete", if not "disintegrated"

Newsroom June 2 02:03

The Indonesian government plans to spend $79 billion on new weapon systems to replace obsolete military equipment over the next three years, according to a document leaked to the media reveals.

A draft presidential decree states that financing for these markets will be obtained through international borrowing. The document does not specify what kind of weapons Jakarta seeks to purchase.

A spokesman for Defense Minister Prabovo Subido confirmed that the document was authentic, but stressed that it was not final, as no final decisions had been made. The armaments program is “still under discussion,” said the Defense Ministry spokesman.
