A police academy in China has announced it is holding an auction to find new homes for 54 dogs who have been rejected from a training program because they are too calm for a career in law enforcement.
The University School of Criminology in China’s Liaoning province has announced that the dogs, mainly German Shepherds, hybrid Dutch Shepherds and Belgian Shepherds, will be auctioned on July 7.
The school said the dogs were rejected from the police training program for a variety of reasons, including…shy personalities, physical weakness, failure to follow instructions and refusal to bite when given orders.
The school clarifies that buyers must sign an agreement to follow government regulations on proper dog care, which new owners are prohibited from reselling or finding housing elsewhere.
