Greek police have arrested a foreign man accused of being a member of the Islamic terrorist organisation ISIS. The arrest of the man, who is 40 and a foreign national, happened on Thursday afternoon, December 23, according to an announcement by the Hellenic Police, and was carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Service (DAEEV), in collaboration with the National Intelligence Service (NSA).
The suspect was arrested on December 7, 2021, by the Directorate of Foreigners of Attica, accused of being a member of a criminal organization, facilitating entry and exit from the country, possession of passports and travel documents of third parties, forgery, acceptance of proceeds of crime, etc. violations of the weapons law and had been released on restrictive terms.
After police filed a case against the suspect, he will be taken to the Athens Prosecutor of First Instance tomorrow morning, Friday.
