Mitsotakis: We have an unpredictable neighbor, it is time for a national rally

"A strong state is a stable state, elections will be held at the end of our term", he said

Newsroom June 9 10:47

“We have an unpredictable neighbor who is as angry as he is isolated”, said Kyriakos Mitsotakis, speaking at the awards ceremony of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Zappeion Megaron.

At the same time, the Prime Minister stopped the election scenarios, with a view to national issues.

“The elections will be held on time. At the end of the 4 years term. Now is the time for different priorities. For a national rally against an unpredictable neighbor. For prudent financial management and for continuous interventions for a smooth and creative daily life”, he stressed.

“We have an unpredictable neighbor who is as angry as he is isolated and under these conditions, I will repeat my opinion. I am determined to ensure this stability that goes hand in hand with continuity and consistency. That is why the government is insisting on its reform plan, opposing the worst contingency with the best possible solution”, said the Prime Minister.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis underlined that “no national budget can compensate for the consequences of a war and an unprecedented energy crisis”, adding that “we must not allow ourselves to sacrifice yesterday’s conquests, we must not mortgage tomorrow’s gains”.

“Our course will be socially sensitive but at the same time financially balanced. We owe it to all those who take part in the public debate to realize this. Weighing our needs on the scales of our potential. The country has no room to be drawn into a climate of inflationary demands and cheap promises and should stay away from toxic political confrontation”, he said.
