The vice-president of the German Parliament called Erdogan a “sewage rat” & Ankara is furious

Germany's Ambassador to Ankara, Jurgen Schulz, was summoned to the Foreign Ministry

According to reports in the German press, the vice-president of the German Parliament Wolfgang Kubicki called the Turkish President Erdogan a “sewage rat”.

Turkey, through the Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tanju Bilgic condemned the senior German official’s insult.

“We condemn in the strongest terms the insulting statements made by Wolfgang Kubicki, the vice-president of the German Federal Parliament, on our President (Erdogan) in a speech during the Lower Saxony state election campaign”, the statement read.

Emphasizing that Kubicki’s statements are “unacceptable”, Ankara stressed that he is “not suitable for the position of vice-president of the parliament”.
