Great Greek folk singer Stamatis Kokotas died (videos)

He had collaborated with all the great Greek composers

The famous folk singer Stamatis Kokotas died in the early hours of Saturday at the age of 85.

Stamatis Kokotas was hospitalized at the Askplipiio hospital in Voula. For the last four years he had been fighting cancer, but in the early morning he died after a rapid deterioration in his health.

He was born in 1937 while in the 60’s and 70’s he had an important presence in the Greek discography as he collaborated with great composers such as Stavros Xarchakos, Dimos Moutsis, Apostolos Kaldaras, Giorgos Hatzinassios, Yiannis Spanos, Giorgos Zampetas, Antonis Katinaris, Haris Lymberopoulos, Vangelis Pitsiladis, Lykourgos Markeas, Andreas Karagiannopoulos and many others.

Stamatis Kokotas left behind an important legacy with his songs.
