Athens shuts down – Annual Polytechnic march toward the US Embassy underway (photos-video)

The anniversary march for the revolt of the Polytechnic is currently underway in downtown Athens. At the head of the march is the blood-stained flag which is carried by the hands of PASP members and will end up at the American embassy.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m., the gates of the Polytechnic University were closed and in a short time, the event of the November 17th Commemoration Committee will take place, during which the recitation of the anthem of the Polytechnic University uprising will take place after the invocation of the dead. Commemorations for the anniversary on November 17 will culminate with a long march to the American embassy.

In the meantime, emergency traffic regulations will be in effect on the road network of the wider area of ​​the center of Athens, until 6 am on Friday, November 18. Also, bus and trolley routes and stops have been modified.

Regarding fixed transport, it has been announced that the “Megaron Music Hall” metro station will close at 15:00 and the “Syntagma” and “Evangelismos” stations will close at 16:30.
