Ruling New Democracy (ND) maintains a lead over SYRIZA and an almost absolute dominance of Kyriakos Mitsotakis over Alexis Tsipras, according to RASS nationwide poll for ACTION 24, between November 28 and December 2.
The citizens consider PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis (47.9%) more suitable as prime minister than major opposition leader Alexis Tsipras (20.6%). ND’s lead is also taken for granted by citizens – with the ruling party gathering 75% in the projection for victory.
Almost half of the citizens (48.6%) consider that “to the extent necessary” is the government’s policy on Greek-Turkish issues, while in the event of a heated episode with Turkey, they state that they feel safer with Mr. K. Mitsotakis as prime minister ( 51.7%).
31.3% of the respondents said they intended to vote for ND with 23.5% saying they would vote for SYRIZA. PASOK – Movement for Change appears at 13.8%, KKE at 6.2%, Hellenic Solution at 3.8%, and MeRA25 at 3.3%. The undecided vote was counted at 9.1%.
It is noted that – as recorded in all opinion polls – the concern of voters about their financial future is intense (79.3%). However, as RASS executives note, “despite the fact that they are concerned about high costs, they consider that inflation is primarily a result of the international turbulence (57.3%) and secondarily the responsibility of the government (41.7%), while seven out of ten do not believe that the household basket at this stage has paid off.
