The Belgian authorities decided to arrest Eva Kaili for the financing case from Qatar, as reported by the Belgian newspapers L’Echo and Le Soir.
The MEP who is, according to information, among the four people arrested and facing serious charges of criminal organization, corruption and money laundering.
Two of the six people brought in for questioning on Sunday were released, while last night a search was also made at the home of a second MEP, who is reportedly Mark Tarabella.
The decision of the Belgian authorities is causing a political storm in Brussels, as it is considered the biggest scandal of the last decades.
