The Turkish president just does not stop the provocations and extreme verbal attacks against Greece. This time, he is threatening to hit the capital of Greece, Athens, with TAYFUN ballistic missiles, even as he tries to present himself as an uninvited mediator between Ukraine and Russia, after having a phone call with Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday.

In his statement, as published by the Turkish journalist, Ragip Soylu, he said that:

Erdogan: “Greece is afraid of our missiles. They say that the TAYFUN missile will hit Athens, it will, unless you stay calm.”

It is not the first time that Recep Tayyip Erdogan has launched a direct attack on Greece using the Tayfun ballistic missile to do so. Almost a month ago, he had mentioned in an interview on the development of the missile system, that Athens is within the range of 561 km that this particular missile has. In fact, he had said ironically that this information has “panicked the Greeks”.

“The Tayfun tests drove Greece crazy. We will continue to develop missile technology and increase its range. Of course the Greeks are also worried, we are reaching Athens”, he had emphasized among other things.

In fact, at the time, he had stated that Greece has been using an aggressive policy (sic) against Turkey lately, saying that this is unacceptable. And he had added that we will not be silent, so Greece must “come to its senses”.
