Greece: An F-4E fighter crashed into the sea south of Andravida (Upd.)

The aircraft belonging to 338 Squadron was on a training mission – They did not have time to eject – Stay online

UPDATE: According to new information, the two pilots did not eject.

They two F-4Es were on a low flight part of the training mission below 300 ft.

Debris have been located 25 nm south of Andravida AFB.

An F-4E Phantom II aircraft crash in the sea area off Anravida on Monday morning.

According to initial information, the two-seater F-4E, which was on a training mission and was accompanied by another Phantom, crashed 25 nautical miles south of Andravida airport.

The downed aircraft belonged to the 117th Fighter Wing’s 338 Squadron and has so far not been located.

The second Phantom with which the F-4 that went down was conducting an exercise is over the accident area and is investigating while sea and air vehicles are moving towards the area from the Andravida base.
