Russia says it shot down a Ukrainian drone that attempted to hit a Gazprom facility

Russian public news agency RIA Novosti published a photo of the drone, which appeared to resemble a Ukrainian-made UJ-22 attack drone

A Ukrainian drone crashed near Kolyma in the Moscow region, according to governor Andrei Vorobyov on his Telegram channel.

“This happened near the village of Gubastovo, the target was probably a civilian infrastructure, but there was no damage. There are no casualties or damage on the ground,” said the head of the oblast.” The FSB and other competent authorities are dealing with the situation, nothing threatens the safety of the residents,” he added.

Russian public news agency RIA Novosti published a photo of the drone, which appeared to resemble a Ukrainian-made UJ-22 attack drone. The UJ-22 is capable of travelling up to 800 km.

However, it is unclear where and when the drone photo was taken.

Russian energy giant Gazprom operates a facility near the village of Gubastovo, about 100 kilometres (62 miles) from Moscow, where the drone crashed.

The Russian Defence Ministry said electronic warfare systems had shot down Ukrainian drones that tried to attack Krasnodar and neighbouring Adygea in southwestern Russia.

RIA Novosti also reported that the Russian military shot down a Ukrainian drone over the Surazh region near the border with Belarus.

Ukraine has not taken responsibility for these attacks on Russia.
