Hotel rates saw a significant rise in April in popular European cities for travel compared to March, according to data from Trivago.
The rates recorded an upwards trend mainly in Europe and by the tourist demand, which is created due to the Easter holidays. It should be noted that the Catholic Easter falls this year on April 9 and the Orthodox on April 16. However, in several cities outside Europe, price reductions are recorded compared to last March. In terms of comparison with April 2022 hotel rates, this month is up in all cities both in Europe and abroad.
More specifically, for hotels in Athens, the average online rates per night for a double room for April reach 144 euros, from 119 euros last March and 113 euros in April 2022. Despite the significant increase, hotel accommodation in Athens remains economically attractive, compared to staying in hotels in other popular European cities.
