Joint training LIVEX (Live Exercise) between fighter aircraft of the Air Force and aircraft of the Israeli Air Force (IAF) was conducted on May 23 in the wider area South of Crete.
As announced by the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, the Air Force participated in the joint training with 53 sorties of F-16 fighters, while from the IAF side, 2 Air Refueling B707 Tanker aircraft of 120 Squadron (Desert Giants) participated.
The purpose of the activity was to train, familiarise and coordinate F-16 aircraft crews in Air to Air Refueling (AAR) procedures during the day and at night.
The joint training is conducted twice a year as part of the implementation of the Defense Cooperation Program between Greece and Israel and contributed to increasing the level of operational readiness, combat capability, exchange of know-how and upgrading the multi-level military synergy of the Armed Forces of the two countries.
