Qatargate: Investigator Michel Clez resigned after the Eva Kaili’s letter

Eva Kaili appealed to the European Parliament for "violation of immunity" and "illegal surveillance"

Newsroom June 20 01:17

The investigator of the Qatargate case, Michel Clez, resigned after Eva Kaili’s letter.

Earlier today, Eva Kaili appealed to the European Parliament for a violation of her immunity. Through her defense lawyers, she maintains that she was being under surveillance by secret services of Arab countries. In a new, joint statement, Eva Kaili’s lawyers, Sven Marie and Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, emphasize that “Eva Kaili was monitored during the period she participated in the Pega committee” (the committee of the European Parliament that investigates phone surveillance cases).

As the Brussels Federal Prosecutor’s Office reports, new evidence has recently come to light in the Qatargate case file. “They could raise some questions about the objective conduct of the research”.
