Henry Cavill has said his final goodbyes to Netflix’s The Witcher ahead of Season 3 by taking a moment to thank his fellow cast members.
As reported by PC Gamer, Cavill took to the stage at Netflix’s Tudum event alongside fellow cast members Anya Chalotra (Yennefer), Freya Allan (Ciri), and Joey Batey (Jaskier). Cavill’s appearance comes after he announced his departure from the show, with Liam Hemsworth taking over the role of Geralt as of Season 4.
“I suppose we should talk to Henry,” Batey said, addressing the elephant in the room. Cavill avoided talking about himself or his relationship with Netflix, however, despite it likely being his final media appearance for The Witcher.
“I actually just want to talk about my co-stars here because once again it was such a pleasure and an honour to be working with you guys,” he said.
“You guys bring so much nuance and detail to these characters, which are often at risk of being oversimplified, and what you guys have done with the characters has involved work, care, and effort. And believe me, working with you guys was the biggest pleasure. So, [I] just want to say I’m gonna miss you. I’m gonna miss you very much.”
Cavill, who hasn’t given a detailed reason for leaving three seasons in, said back in November 2021 that he was absolutely committed to a seven-season run of The Witcher” as long as we can keep telling great stories which honour [original author] Sapkowski’s work.”
