Former US President Barack Obama was given a private tour incognito of the Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis yesterday evening.

Barack Obama was in Athens for the meeting of the “Obama Foundation Leaders” which took place early Wednesday afternoon (6/21) in a central hotel in Athens.

He then visited the Acropolis Museum and the Parthenon, which had not been announced for security reasons.

Before ascending the rock, the Obamas visited the Acropolis Museum where they were given a “private” tour. The former US president entered through the door at the back of the building.

Speaking at the Obama Foundation’s event in Greece, Barack Obama said Greece was a small country which nevertheless always impresses him. “Despite its size, it is a core of events that affect the whole world,” he noted.

In the past, he said, Greece was a crossroads of cultures connecting the West with the East. Center of culture as well as commerce. Greece, he stressed, has left an indelible mark on history and world culture.
