Drisbioti wins bronze in World Athletics Championship

Drisbioti became the first Greek female medalist in a World Athletics Championship Competition

Greek race walker Antigoni Drisbioti clinched bronze the bronze medal in the 35 km walk at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

The Greek champion was in the leading pack from the start of the race and took 3rd place with 2:43:22. Maria Perez of Spain won the gold with 2:38:40 and Kimberly Garcia Leon won the silver with 2:40:52.

Drisbioti became the first Greek female medalist in a World Athletics Championship Competition.

The Greek champion added bronze to her medal tally after she had won gold in the 20 km walk at the European Championships held in Prague in May.
