Bad Weather Daniel – PM Mitsotakis: We will do “whatever is necessary” (photos)

"I will mobilize all the European resources available so that we can have additional support, to cover first of all the needs of compensations of households"

Newsroom September 8 02:17

Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the meeting he had at the Karditsa town hall with the mayors of the affected areas, sent the message that the government will do “whatever is necessary” to proceed immediately with the restoration of the disasters caused by the bad weather Daniel in areas of Thessaly.

The Prime Minister, who began his speech with condolences to the relatives of the victims, emphasized, in fact, that “I will mobilize all the European resources available so that we can have additional support, to cover first of all the needs of compensations of households. The Greek economy is now strong enough to withstand such a disaster”, added Mr. Mitsotakis.

As he announced, “damage assessments will begin immediately”, while he also prioritized the restoration of infrastructure and networks.

“I understand both anger and rage. I never hid, I’m always here in difficult times. We will back up, we will support the local government”, the Prime Minister added emphasizing once again that “I want you to know that we will do everything humanly possible”.

In fact, he assured again that “we will find the money, whether it is national resources or European resources. There will be no – let me stress this point – resource issue. There is a question of quick implementation of the projects. I say this because I know for myself how difficult it is when such extraordinary phenomena occur. But we are in a position, I will repeat this, to be able to manage it. And with the help of Europe, which I will claim, and through national resources which we can find, mainly in terms of immediate needs”.
