“Friends” actress Courteney Cox delivered a behind-the-scenes surprise along with a sweet tribute to Matthew Perry — who played onscreen love interest Chandler Bing to Cox’s Monica Geller — after he passed away late last month at the age of 54.

Cox shared a two-part clip from the show as a part of her Instagram post — and she noted that the first part was what aired on television, but the second part included a much longer take of the studio audience’s reaction.

The clip in question showed the big reveal: Monica popping out from under the covers of Chandler’s bed after presumably spending the night together before Ross (David Schwimmer) was to marry Emily in London. And as Cox noted in her caption, that moment was supposed to depict the end of a one-night stand — but the audience apparently loved it so much, the writers went ahead with the Monica-and-Chandler storyline.
