March 25th: Mitsotakis and Trudeau in the grand parade in Montreal (video-photos)

The two leaders also had the opportunity to visit diaspora-owned stores and talk with their owners and customers

Newsroom March 25 10:10

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as part of his official visit to Canada, attended the parade of associations of the Greek Community of Greater Montreal for the national holiday of March 25th, along with his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau.

After the completion of the parade, in which people of all ages from diaspora associations from dozens of regions of Greece participated, Kyriakos Mitsotakis made the following statement:

“It is truly a great honor and joy to represent our homeland today here in Montreal, in this truly impressive parade on the occasion of the anniversary of the National Independence of March 25th.

Here in Canada, indeed, the heart of Hellenism beats very strongly, and the message of March 25th resonates vividly and timely throughout the world and here in Canada. Our struggle for national independence in difficult times is always historically relevant.

And of course, this year our presence in the diaspora has a special significance, as for the first time we are realizing the vision of decades, allowing Greek expatriates to postal vote from their permanent place of residence.

Once again, a big ‘thank you’ to the Canadian Prime Minister, a big ‘thank you’ to those who organized this truly amazing parade, which proves that Hellenism here in Canada is vibrant and alive”.
