Thessaloniki: 60-year-old convicted of assaulting sister-in-law with a crucifix at the cemetery

She's mad exclaimed the son of the man being buried

Newsroom April 18 08:52

The 60-year-old brother of the deceased, who was convicted of assaulting his sister-in-law during a funeral in Thessaloniki claims he didn’t do it that she slipped and fell due to her haste.

“She blames me for many issues,” he expressed and went on to say that, “she quarrels with everyone. This woman is troubled, she needs a therapist, she’s not well,” releasing these statements to Mega and Live News claiming that none of the allegations made by his brother’s widow hold any truth.

“She said, I forgive you but let God reprieve you for the harm you’ve inflicted on to me.” The 60 year old explained that he had done absolutely nothing to her and that her motive was simply to cause trouble and not to forgive anyone and further said, “If you want to forgive, you light a candle, make your peace and leave. However in her haste to leave she stumbled and fell onto the adjacent grave while also damaging it. I regret not taking photos to have evidence,” he concluded.

A same version of the incident was given by the son of the man being buried. “He didn’t assault her, she fell and hurt herself. She’s mad to suggest differently, he claimed and continued by expressing that, “the sole reason they believe her is because she is emotionally sensitive. Of course, its nothing to make a fuss over, a small penalty was all in that even the judge probably understood that she’s not all there.”

The court imposed a five-month prison sentence with a three-year suspension on the 60-year-old for domestic aggravated assault

The accused alleges that her cousin attacked her by grabbing a marble crucifix from a nearby grave. She went on to express, “I went to forgive and at the moment I did, they found the opportunity. My murder was planned with a marble crucifix,” said the women on Live News.
