The project was completed following numerous obstacles where the southern section of the Central Greece Axis faced floods and also route changes delayed the project approximately by 2.5 years. While 25 kilometers of the northern section are being delivered currently, the remaining 70.5 km are yet to be completed. The northern section, including a segment from the Karpenissi junction to the Xyniada intersection, totaling 18 km, is scheduled for completion by 2026, later than planned due to delays in expropriations.
