Pyrros Dimas: Responds for the first time about his daughter’s surname change – It didn’t bother me at all

"She didn't change it now; she changed her surname since she lost her mom," he added

Newsroom April 23 06:01

The Olympic gold medalist Pyrros Dimas spoke for the first time about the reason why his daughter, Maria, changed her surname and took her mother’s.

Regarding this, he explained: “My daughter didn’t change her surname now. Since she lost her mom, she changed her surname. At that time, she was also doing weightlifting, and because there were some comments from some foreigners that she would be like her dad and that she would do weightlifting and become an Olympian, she told me, ‘I don’t want to do it to become an Olympian, I want to do it for myself, to exercise,’ and she tells me she will change her name.’ I told her, ‘Do whatever you want, my girl, it’s okay.’ Maria is very sensitive.”
