Konstantinos Floros, who assaulted a member of the Hellenic Solution party inside Parliament, has been released with a restraining order after offering his statement.
He is prohibited from approaching Vassilis Grammenos within 50 meters.
In his statements outside the Evelpidon courts, Floros admitted his actions were wrong, acknowledging they were not appropriate for a member of parliament.
The former Spartan MP said that: “At that moment, as a son, and driven by emotion, I thought I did the right thing. But because I also carry a very important status, that of a Greek MP, I did absolutely the wrong thing, this behaviour is not appropriate in parliamentary premises. It is not an example for a Greek MP.”
His lawyer emphasised the seriousness of the incident and the need for MPs to uphold parliamentary standards.
