Three of a total of 10 defendants arrested in the major investigation into the murder of police officer George Liggeridis have been sent to prison after their pleas.
These ten defendants pleaded to the investigating judge today for offences relating only to the supply of drugs and immediately afterwards three of them were considered temporary prisoners with the agreement of the investigating judge and the prosecutor.
The remaining seven were released on restrictive conditions.
It is worth noting that of the 10 defendants who crossed the interrogation threshold today, only three were facing only drug charges.
Thus the remaining seven will be brought back to court over the weekend to plead along with their other co-defendants on a number of other serious charges they face, including criminal organisation, murder of Liggeridis and explosions.
