Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis attended in the morning at the conference “Promoting Innovation in Addressing Natural Disasters – Exchange of Best Practices: A Cultural Act”.
The conference, organized by JTI Hellas in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Greece, is part of the “2024: Year of Culture and Tourism of Japan – Greece.”
Within this framework, the non-profit organization “The JTI Foundation” announced a donation for the fire protection of the suburban forest of Xanthi and the equipment of the Fire Department in the city.

In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of promoting innovation in addressing natural disasters, particularly highlighting the event and meetings following the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation.
“I must point out that the Greek government is planning to invest over 2 billion euros in the coming years, mainly European funds, to strengthen civil protection infrastructure,” he said.
He also emphasized the early detection and alarm system that will be installed in the suburban forest of Xanthi.
