Failure to comply carries a fine while submitting false declarations results in severe penalties. Declarations for properties near forests are expected to be filed through technical experts.

The cleaning process involves removing dry trees and branches, combustible plant material, thinning shrubby vegetation, and disposing of flammable materials. Failure to submit a declaration incurs a €1,000 fine. Submitting a false declaration results in imprisonment and fines. The regulation affects over a million property owners, requiring additional fire protection measures for buildings and surrounding areas. Properties are categorized based on risk level, with corresponding required actions. POMIDA requests a rationalization of legislation, including suspension and reduction of fines, prior notification by Municipalities, and other adjustments for effectiveness.
