mAiGreece: the new app that will act as a digital travel assistant for visitors to Greece

The new application was presented this morning by the Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni at a special event at the National Gallery

Newsroom June 3 03:46

The digital application “mAiGreece”, which will function as a digital travel assistant for visitors to Greece and beyond, was presented this morning by Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni at a special event at the National Gallery, in the presence of the Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou.

The application, which was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Digital Governance, functions as a digital travel assistant and uses artificial intelligence technology, providing the user with an interface that can offer a wealth of useful information.

mAiGreece will initially offer support in 31 languages, ensuring that travellers from all over the world can receive assistance in their own language.

Specifically, “mAIGreece” is a Digital Assistant, which, using Artificial Intelligence, will act as a personalised travel “companion” for all visitors to the country. It aims to provide them with all the information they need to enjoy their stay in Greece.

It is an easy-to-use application, which will go live on 10 June 2024. Travellers will be able to chat with “mAiGreece” by submitting their query in natural language, written or voice. Using geo-location technology (GPS), “mAIiGreece” will provide information depending on the area in which visitors are located.

In her speech, Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said that this is a tool that among other things will help visitors to feel more secure in Greece, with Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou adding that this digital application will be there in a time of need.

For example, it will provide clear answers on what to do if a visitor loses their passport or wallet.

In the first phase, the present app will be promoted by the EOT offices abroad and there will be a special event at Athens airport.
