Russia: Dead judge who had convicted opponents of the Kremlin – She too fell from a balcony

According to Russian media reports, she had fallen victim to fraud and had been persuaded to take a large sum of money from her account

Newsroom June 7 07:26

Russian authorities are investigating the circumstances of the death of Judge Natalia Larina, who was found dead after falling from a window at a great height.

Larina, who was 50 years old, was known for her sentences against opponents of the government and the regime in general, and in favour of the FSB secret service. She also had, as the Daily Mail reports, considerable experience in criminal cases.

Local media reported that she had reportedly lost large sums of money to telephone fraud.

Before her death, the same sources say, she had reported to the police that fraudsters had convinced her that her bank account was being threatened by people wanting to send her money to help Ukraine.

She therefore transferred her money, about 1 million roubles (€10 300) to another account, thus falling victim to the fraud. According to information, she felt wronged and therefore left a note.

However, this information has not been officially confirmed.

In the past, Larina, who had a young daughter, handled major cases involving fraud, as well as other offences. In 2011, for example, she had convicted then Transport Minister Makarov for sexually abusing his daughter].

Larina’s death adds to the deaths of officials and other persons in power.

Indeed, in all cases, the suicide was in the same way: a fall from a great height.
