All parties that exceed the 3% threshold, even marginally, secure a seat in the European Parliament. Based on the distribution of percentages with 82% of the vote counted, ND with 27.77% secures 7 seats, SYRIZA with 14.89% gets 4 seats, PASOK with 12.99% receives 3 seats, Hellenic Solution with 9.67% obtains 2 seats, as does KKE with 9.3%. Additionally, Niki (4.42%), Pleisi (3.42%), and Voice of Logic (3.05%) each gain one seat.
However, officials from the Ministry of Interior believe that the integration of postal votes, which is still progressing slowly, may lead to changes, with KKE potentially overtaking Lysi, and Ms. Afroditi Latinopoulou’s party possibly falling below the 3% threshold.
In any case, the candidates leading in the battle of the preference votes (82% integration) are as follows:
From the ND, the top three are George Avtia, Evangelos Meimarakis, and Fredis Beleris. The fourth position is being contested by Manolis Kefalogiannis and Elisa Vosemberg, who are separated by 30 votes. Eleonora Meleti is in 6th place, and Dimitris Tsiodras is in 7th place.
In SYRIZA, Kostas Arvanitis is leading with a difference of about 500 votes over Nikos Farantouris. They are followed by Nikos Pappas and Elena Kountoura.
The top three for PASOK are Nikos Papandreou, Yannis Maniatis, and Sakis Arnaoutoglou.
The two seats for KKE currently go to incumbent MEPs Lefteris Alavanos and Kostas Papadakis.
The seat for Niki goes to Nikos Anadiotis, for Pleisi to Maria Zacharias, and for Voice of Logic to Afroditi Latinopoulou.
