Mourning prevails in Pyrgos, the body of the 11-year-old girl was found in a field in the Katarachi area where the child’s mother had immediately reported her disappearance. The murderer is the mother’s cousin who in the past had drawn the attention of authorities for allegations of rape and abuse involving minors.
The officers of the Pyrgos Security Sub-Directorate saw in footage from security cameras that the 11-year-old entered the 37-year-old uncle’s vehicle and left together for Myrtia. Thus, when the disappearance was reported, the man was brought in and, under interrogation, confessed to the crime. The body was found in a clover field, 30 kilometers from the child’s home. In 2017, he was accused of raping a minor. So far it has not been known if he was convicted in this case.
