Symi: Michael Mosley’s last dramatic 2 hours (video-photos)

The "death route"

Newsroom June 10 09:27

The “death route” followed by the British presenter of the BBC, Michael Mosley, at noon last Wednesday while he was on vacation in Symi with his wife and a friendly couple, is presented with a graph by the DailyMail.

According to what has become known, the 67-year-old presenter was with his friends at the beach of Agios Nikolaos and around 1:30 in the afternoon he decided to return to the house where he lived in Gyalos to rest. Since then, no trace of him has been lost. After a 5-day dramatic search with drones, helicopters and specially trained dogs, Mosley is found dead in a rocky area and at a distance of about 10 meters from the sea, on the beach of Agia Marina. According to information, the 67-year-old died, about two hours after saying goodbye to his wife and leaving the beach of Agios Nikolaos.

The British health “guru” and father of four children, brought with him a small bottle of water and an umbrella and despite the extreme heat, according to the DailyMail, he managed to climb a steep slope from Pedi to the top of the hill overlooking Agia Marina.

Police sources consider the possibility that Michael Mosley, leaving Pedi, got confused and instead of moving left towards Gyalos Symis took the route to his right that led to Agia Marina.

Mosley was recorded by a CTV of a beach restaurant in the marina of Pedi village on Wednesday. Minutes later, the 67-year-old can be seen zealously walking down a slope, located near a perimeter fence, before disappearing from the camera’s field of view.

Mosley is then believed to have continued to walk around the fence before falling to the rocky point where his lifeless body was found face down, about 100 meters from a busy resort.

It is noted that after frantic searches, he was located when Greek journalists were filming from the area.

At first, according to information, the medical examiner seems to rule out criminal activity, as he does not detect any suspicious injuries. Due to the condition of his body, he can’t determine cause of death macroscopically, not even if Mosley fell off the rocks. The official results of the autopsy, which will take place in Rhodes, are expected today, Monday.
