Mystery surrounds the case of a woman found charred on a path near Chora, in Kythera.
The woman was spotted by a passerby at 8:50 in the morning. Flammable material and a lighter were found next to her.
Her husband proceeded to identify the body. She is a 60-year-old woman who runs a souvenir shop.
The police are investigating all scenarios. However, the officers who arrived there are leaning towards the suicide scenario, as the lighter and a bottle that probably contained turpentine were found right next to her, and there is no history of domestic violence. At the same time, her family can’t think of anyone who could have harmed her.
According to kythiraika.gr, the woman was found naked and in poor condition. She was found on the road to Kakoprinos.
Already, a coroner has been called, to whom photos of the woman have been sent. The forensic examination is expected to shed light on the cause of her death.
