Fires are breaking out in various parts of Greece simultaneously.

Messages from 112 in Kilkis, Larissa, Pella

A message from 112 was sent to residents of Agios Thomas to evacuate after the fire that broke out in Larissa.

“Activate 112. Forest fire in Agios Thomas Larissa. If you are in the area move away from Larissa‼️ Follow the instructions of the authorities,” the message reads.

The fire has burnt low vegetation and 30 firefighters with 12 vehicles and 1 helicopter are operating at the scene.

The fire brigade was alerted to a fire in Kilkis, where strong winds were blowing.

The fire was burning low vegetation in the Herso area and next to it was a ravine with some forest. 34 firefighters with 16 vehicles and 2 aircraft are operating at the scene, while a pair of canopies is also on the way.

Also, 112 has been activated. “Forest fire in the area of Cherso Kilkis. Stay alert. Follow the instructions of the authorities,” the 112 message reads.

Also, a fire broke out at noon on Friday in an agroforestry area in Eleftherochori, Pella.

The mobilization of the Fire Brigade was immediate and 28 firefighters were involved in the extinguishing operation, with a team of a hiking section of the 2nd EMODE, 10 vehicles, while two aircraft were raised and operated from the air. The flames are in close proximity to the settlement.

What is of concern to the firefighters is the strong wind blowing in the area and to that end, they are trying to contain the fire as quickly as they can. To that end, 112 was sent out so that residents could be on alert.

Two fires in areas of Thessaloniki

A fire broke out at noon on Friday in the area of Vasilika, outside Thessaloniki.

The fire broke out shortly after 15:00 and was burning dry grass. Eight vehicles with 16 firefighters are operating at the scene to extinguish the fire. In addition, water-borne vehicles of the municipality of Thermi are also assisting.

A second fire is in progress in an area of Thessaloniki that broke out at about 2 p.m. in a grassland area near Nea Apollonia in the municipality of Volvi. 26 firefighters with 13 vehicles have rushed to the scene and are operating.

It is noted that strong winds were blowing.

A fire has broken out in low vegetation in Akontio Livadia. According to the fire brigade, the fire broke out around 14.40 and is burning low vegetation.

To extinguish the fire 52 firefighters have been mobilized with 2 groups of hiking sections of the 4th EMODE, 18 vehicles, and from the air 2 helicopters and 2 aircraft had been escorted.
