“Good evening to everyone, especially those who love AEK. Today, love is not selfless; there is a purpose. You don’t do something for your neighbor, your friend, or a stranger without a purpose, without wanting to achieve something. Because AEK has a different mentality, it embodies this selflessness for everyone. AEK is a greatness. It is my new grand vision.

AEK is the team that remembers its roots, which have a significant history in Constantinople, where the light was. Even today, we can draw inspiration from there. AEK is the team connected to the soul of all of us. It is the team that, even in difficult times, managed to stand tall and move forward.

I don’t want to say many words. Our actions define us. We have been at the helm of AEK for only ten days, and we will speak through our actions. We invited all voices here today, friendly and not so friendly, to hear your voice, our voice, so that you, those who love AEK, and even those who don’t out of interest, can draw your own conclusions.”

On Dimitris Melissanidis and his decision to enter football:

“I am a person who dreams and sets goals and always has thoughts in the back of my mind. I don’t hide the fact that because I generally dare, in the back of my mind, there was a childhood dream, a hidden desire to take the reins of the team. These are things that might happen once in your life, maybe never. With the trust of Dimitris Melissanidis, as a person who gets things done, a unique opportunity came that I seized.”

“It is my big dream. Greece is a country without infrastructure; it is a glorious country, and it is an incredible privilege to be Greek, but, unfortunately, you are born in a country without infrastructure. If you remember, even in my first presentation, I spoke about unexploited projects. I understand your concern, and because there are no infrastructures in general, like in the sport I love, car racing, it is a vision to highlight talents.

We start from the academies. Wouldn’t it be more beautiful for a team to have seven Greeks in the lineup or six? We want to showcase talents, to utilize them. With coaches and athletes, and gradually make AEK glorious as well as in other sports. We will try every year to emphasize the fans of AEK.”
