An overnight battle with flames is being fought by firefighters in Serifos as the fire that broke out on Saturday afternoon (29/6) in low vegetation in the Livadi area remains ongoing.
Four firefighters with one vehicle are operating at the scene, as well as water trucks from the municipality.
At the same time, firefighting forces from Athens, 22 firefighters with 11 vehicles and from Syros, 7 firefighters with 3 vehicles.
Furthermore, two aircraft and a helicopter operated until the last light of the day.
It is noted that since early afternoon, messages were sent from “112” for evacuation from a total of 8 settlements.
Specifically at 20:52 a message was sent stating: “Fire in Serifos. If you are in the areas of Ramos, Livadakia, Karavi, please move away towards Livadi.”
Earlier, a message was sent to those in the areas of Koutalas, Ganema, Vagia and Kalo Ampeli that they should evacuate to Serifos mainland via Koutalas.
While the first “112” at 18.18 reported: “If you are in the Ramos and Livadi areas of Serifos, please move away towards Serifos.”
