The results included one Gold, two Silver, and three Bronze medals, demonstrating the students’ high performance in this challenging two-day competition held from July 11-22, 2024, which featured participants from 108 countries.

Kyriakos Tsourekas from Moraiti School won the Gold Medal. The Silver Medals were awarded to Orestis Lignos from Hellenic Education Schools and Nektarios Raphael Berkoutakis from the 3rd General Lyceum of Pyrgos. The Bronze Medals were earned by Sokratis Iliadis from the Model High School of Anavryton, Ioannis Galamatis from the Experimental School of the University of Thessaloniki, and Dionysios Petrakis from the General High School of Kanithou. The Greek team was led by Anargyros Fellouris, President of HMS and Professor Emeritus of the National Technical University of Athens, and Silouanos Brazitikos, Assistant Professor at the University of Crete.

According to HMS, the student’s participation in the Olympiad was the result of a rigorous selection process through the Panhellenic Mathematics Competition, which has been organized by HMS since 1934. This year, the first phase of the competition saw 12,000 students from across Greece competing. HMS prepares and supports these students on a voluntary basis, aiming to enhance Mathematical Education and Training in Greece.
