Celine Dion appeared in high spirits as she arrived at her Paris hotel on Tuesday, July 23rd, ahead of the 2024 Olympics. The 56-year-old singer, who has been open about her struggle with Stiff Person Syndrome in her new documentary, was seen wearing an oversized black jacket and stylish wide-leg trousers.
Recently, Dion announced her desire to return to live performances, sparking rumors online about her potentially singing at the opening ceremony of the Olympics, as reported by the Daily Mail. However, Dion has not commented on these speculations.
In her recent documentary entitled “I Am Celine Dion,” she emotionally shared, “When I try to sing, my lungs are fine. But what is in front of them is so rigid because of the syndrome I have that I can’t. And it’s very difficult for me to hear it and show it to you.”
The critically acclaimed documentary, filmed over a year, chronicles Dion’s efforts to continue her life and career despite her diagnosis.
Celine Dion Secretly Rehearsing for Live Show Comeback
Celine Dion is reportedly rehearsing in secret for a dramatic comeback in Las Vegas amid her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome, which has affected her vocal abilities, according to The Sun.
The 56-year-old singer is said to be preparing for 70-minute concerts after a four-year hiatus. Sources told The US Sun that Dion is planning to return to the stage this autumn, likely performing a limited number of shows at the Resorts World Theater in November 2024.
There are plans to reschedule the concerts if Dion experiences health issues. A source revealed, “Celine will be returning to live shows. It’s currently a secret, but an announcement is expected. Celine has vowed to sing in front of an audience again in November. She has worked incredibly hard to get back to a point where she can sing well for a while. She thinks she’s ready to sing for over an hour.”
“Her desire to give back and have fun was a huge driving force in her health battles. She never gave up and has secretly worked for months on her vocal strength and voice control,” the source added.
The source also noted that Dion started with small sessions with musicians at her home and is now able to sing “several songs in a row” after eight months of treatment. The star reportedly has the “full support” of concert promoter AEG.
Dion’s last concert was during her “Courage” world tour in New Jersey on March 8, 2020. She subsequently canceled her tour amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
