Two people were killed and 13 injured when a balcony connecting apartments collapsed in the Scampi area just outside Naples, Italy.

Seven children are among the injured, according to Italian media.

The cause of the collapse is being investigated by the competent authorities, but the most likely scenario is that there was a structural problem.

The building is a social housing complex, inhabited by poor families, and is one of the last remaining in the area, which is mainly known for the activities of the local mafia, the Camorra.
