The Irish Times reports that authorities have confirmed the presence of fatalities, although they have not specified the number. The helicopter could carry a maximum of three people.

Additionally, authorities mention that the helicopter crashed into a pigsty. The buildings at the site were not residential, but it is currently unknown if there were any people inside them.

Speaking to the Irish broadcaster RTÉ News, the mayor of the Mullingar-Kinnegad region, Ken Glynn, described the incident as “shocking and tragic.” “I am stunned and shocked; it’s not something you expect to hear happening in your area,” Glynn said. He added that his thoughts and prayers are with the families of those involved in the incident.
