Discounts on shipping and airline tickets for the travel of newly appointed teachers of primary and secondary education in their area of assignment.

The Ministries of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and Maritime and Island Policy announced today, August 20, 2024, discounts on ferry and airline tickets for newly appointed Primary and Secondary Education teachers for the 2024-2025 academic year in order for them to travel to their area of placement and duty.

What’s in effect for discounts on ferry tickets – Which companies are participating

A joint initiative of the Ministries of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and Shipping and Island Policy has announced discounts of up to 50% on ferry tickets for newly appointed teachers.

1. ATTICA GROUP: 50% discount for passengers, their vehicles and two-wheelers for the period 18/8/2024-04/9/2024,

2. Goutos Lines (Karthaia Shipping Company): 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles for the period 18/8/2024-02/9/2024,

3. Golden Star Ferries: 30% discount for passengers and 20% for their vehicles in the period 18/8/2024-02/9/2024,

4. Skyros Shipping Company: 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles during the period 18/8/2024-02/9/2024,

5. Dodekanisos Sea Ways: 50% discount for passengers,7. Levante Ferries Group: 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles for the period 18/8/2024-02/9/2024,

6. Aegean Sea Lines: 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles for the period 18/8/2024-02/9/2024.

7. SeaJets: 30% discount for passengers and 20% discount for their vehicles and two-wheelers for the period 18/8/2024-02/9/2024.
20% of the total cost of the vehicle on 18.24.18.2008 and 20% on 18.24.2008.

In the next few days, other companies may be added to the above table, in which case a new update will be issued.

The discount will apply to cover the teachers’ travel from their places of permanent residence to the final island where they undertake service.
Necessary documentation for the discount will be the relevant Official Gazette of Appointment and their Police Identity Card.

Air tickets from SKY Express – The procedure and requirements for the discount

The SKYexpress company in response to the request of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports is providing a 30% discount for the issuance of two (2) air tickets per person for the transportation of newly appointed Primary and Secondary Education teachers to the place of duty.

The procedure for obtaining the said discount is as follows:

Beneficiaries visiting the page of the company after filling in the necessary details (name, surname, mail, telephone number, and submitting the FEK of appointment (PDF), will receive the relevant discount code in their e-mail, to be entered during the ticket booking/purchase process. The code is valid for 2 uses for one-way or round-trip tickets.

The code is valid for flights from 20/08/2024 to 04/09/2024. Only valid on all domestic flights and only one passenger per booking.

In addition, the offer is not applicable in combination with other promotions. In case of ticket change, there is a charge proportional to the fare category, without the discount. The discount applies to the fare and does not apply to ticket taxes.

All flights must be operated between the travel dates 20/08/2024 to 04/09/2024

In case of violation of the terms and conditions and incorrect submission of the FOC the airline has the right to cancel the booking.
