Oropos: A 6-year-old boy was injured in an amusement park

The child's parents filed a lawsuit against the company

Newsroom August 21 10:08

Another incident of injury, this time without casualties, took place at an amusement park in Oropos, where a six-year-old child was injured on a trampoline.

According to a complaint made to the Oropos Police Department by the child’s parents, on the evening of Friday, August 16, 2024, the six-year-old entered a trampoline to have fun, but during the game, he fell and was injured.

Immediately the Oropou Police Department made an on-site inspection of the amusement park, located on the coastal road of Skala Oropou, while the services of the municipality and the responsible persons for the control of the games were also notified.

As a result, it was decided to partially seal the amusement park, which entails closing the trampoline.

Speaking to the TV medium “Star”, the father of the 6-year-old child complained that the child was trampolining and fell into a one-meter gap. “My wife was screaming… I started running, I caught the child and we got out of the trampoline. We were hugging and crying, my son and my wife were screaming,” he describes.

.

As for his complaint against the business, the father points out that when the accident occurred, there was no representative of the amusement park on the premises, which prompted him to take legal action against them.

“We hugged and cried. At the time this all happened, there was no amusement park representative. I decided to sue because this all has to stop somewhere and change,” he said.

The amusement park was operating with a license – The mayor also called for an audit

The mayor of Oropos, Georgios Yasimakis, who was informed on Friday night about the incident and immediately instructed the technical department of the municipality to carry out checks, also spoke to the television medium.

Mr. Yasimakis stressed that this business was licensed, while on Monday was an autopsy by experts and will be prepared a technical report.
On Monday, a technical examination will be carried out on Monday and a technical report will be prepared.

He also requested a thorough inspection by the National Accreditation System of the Ministry of Development, while he said he was informed that the child is in good health.
